LAHORE (Web Desk) - The Punjab Disaster Management Authority has forecast snow fall for Murree and surrounding areas from today.

A spokesperson from PDMA said that the authorities had been diligently working to prevent any untoward incident during snowfall and influx of large number of tourists.

He said that three facilitation centers for tourists were set up last week, and this number has now been increased to thirteen. 

 

COLD, DRY WEATHER TO PREVAIL IN MOST PARTS OF COUNTRY

Mainly cold and cloudy weather is expected in most of upper and western parts of the country, while very cold in northern parts during the next twelve hours.

However, rain-thunderstorm, snow over mountains, is likely in northern Balochistan and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Light rain/drizzle may occur in upper Punjab, Pothohar region and Kashmir.

Dense fog and smog is likely to persist in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh. Temperature of major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad two degree centigrade, Lahore and Quetta six, Karachi fourteen, Peshawar and Muzafarabad three, Gilgit minus-three and Murree one degree centigrade.

According to weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy with chances of isolated rain and drizzle during evening and night weather is expected in Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula, while, cold and dense fog in Jammu and Partly cloudy and very cold weather in Leh.

Temperature recorded this morning:Srinagar and Pulwama minus-three degree centigrade, Jammu five, Leh minus-ten and Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula minus-four degree centigrade.
